Rain, mud, dust, migrating birds – all of these things can be harmful to the paint on your car.  Rain can carry contaminants and deposit them on your car and dust over time can scratch the clear coat.  And birds…..well, you know.  The best way to maintain the paint job that your car came with is to remove the dirt often by washing it and by applying a protective layer of wax to the keep the harmful things from getting to the clear coat.

Clear coat is a layer applied on top of the paint and helps protect the actual paint.  Car paint in its normal state is very fragile and is easily chipped or scratched.  The clear helps protect it from these scratches and from harmful sunlight and UV rays.  But the clear coat can be damaged by being exposed to the elements, and the birds.
